Schools
Lunchtime Clubs:
An extracurricular activity offered to schools by the York City FC Foundation, allowing children to learn and develop their football skills during the designated session times. These sessions may be funded by the school, parents, or external funders such as the Premier League or National League Trust if they are for targeted groups.
Schools usually agreed their chosen year groups(s) and which terms dates the club is offered for.
Premier League Primary Stars (PLPS):
A subsidised school offering funded through the Premier League Foundation (PLF) and the National League Trust (NLT). York City FC Foundation coaches are trained to deliver the PL Primary Stars programme which is designed to upskill teachers or higher-level teaching assistants over time, helping them improve their delivery content, cater to different ability levels, and plan sessions effectively. This programme is part of a broader initiative that also includes targeted interventions in PSHE, numeracy, and literacy. Additional offerings include social action programmes, workshops, girls-only sessions, and staff CPD.
After-School Clubs:
An extracurricular activity offered to schools by York City FC Foundation, providing children with an opportunity to learn and develop their footballing skills during the designated session times. These sessions may be funded by the school or parents. Schools usually agreed their chosen year groups(s) and which terms dates the club is offered for.
In school Physical Activity lessons:
6-12 week programme providing schools with the expertise of York City Foundation coaches. Schools can feel reassured that our coaches can deliver fun physical activity sessions based on their needs. The focus is on helping children to improve their agility, balance and coordination, with football fun, from effective session planning with positive role models.
Positive masculinity:
The first of its kind nationally, this programme has been designed especially for year 5-6 boys for Primary Schools in York. As a result of discussions with local teachers and funding sought from the National League Trust, this initiative has been implemented in ten schools, with free access to the programme. Our 6 week programme has been designed with this in mind, promoting healthy debate about what it means to be a man in today’s world, whilst providing positive male role models from York City Foundation. We have partnered with Richard Pomfrett, Owner of The Stay Safe Initative.
Home education programme:
Term time sessions as part of a physical activity programme offers support to children aged 7-12 years old in York who are currently home educated. With full support of York City Foundation coaching staff, young girls and boys can make friends, stay fit and improve their football skills. A fun, inclusive weekly session, including all aspects of physical education as a team, offering home educated young people the same opportunity as an in school lunchtime or after school club.
